Courtney grew up in Perth, Western Australia. She loves the ocean and spends her free time diving, snorkeling and surfing when she can. She studied Marine Biology and Zoology at the University of Western Australia and went on to do her Honours researching the visual ecology of inter-tidal Fiddler Crabs. In 2017, she spent a few months in remote North-Western Australia as an intern with the Kimberley Marine Research Station. She was fascinated by the giant tides that dominate the Kimberley region and how the animals have adapted to such a harsh and forever-changing environment. Always the traveler, Courtney is now on a working holiday in Canada and is stoked to continue her passion for marine research and conservation with Sea Around Us.
